CHRISTMAS LUNCH AT THE MENDIP INN 2017
I think we all enjoyed it, and it was good value.
This year's exhibition awards went to the following.
Mixed Media - Philip Evry. Oils - Pam Wilmot. Acrylics - Nigel Punchard. Watercolour - Penny Lloyd. Pastels - Amanda Mayes. Public Vote - Suzi Brain.
BASIL AXFORD - PERSPECTIVES WORKSHOP NOVEMBER 2017
Local teacher Basil Axford treated the members to a workshop / demonstration on the subject of perspectives and how to view and draw them. Although the subject may appear simple, in fact Basil highlighted some common faults made when setting out drawings and paintings etc. It was a very enjoyable couple of hours and our thanks go to Basil for volunteering his time.
GRAHAM COX - PASTEL WORKSHOP - OCTOBER 2017
It has conspired to be a hectic week for the members of Chilcompton Art Club. On Wednesday the 25th we had an all day pastel workshop in the St John’s Church Hall Chilcompton. The Wiltshire based professional artist Graham Cox, gave one of his excellent tutorial workshops. Mr Cox specialises in the medium of pastels and runs his business “Moody Views” http://www.moodyviews.co.uk/ from his studio in Trowbridge. The club members and a few guests were given an overview of the medium and then guided through producing two beautiful landscape pictures in the distinctive Cox style. For quite a few members, this was their first experience of using pastels, but with Mr Cox’s often humorous style and step by step guidance, everyone ended up being delighted with the final results that they produced to take home.
Hugh's wonderful watercolour workshop

TERM END EVENT AND COMPETITION 28th JULY 2017
Friday the 28th July saw the usual end of term event take place in the church hall, many members brought along their work that had been completed during the past 12 months, light refreshments and drinks were taken and it was also a chance for some of the Friday and Wednesday members to mingle and compare notes.
The annual competition subject, which was set by the committee in January, was for members to submit monochrome black and white pictures, done in any medium.
The winning painting, 'Dandelions in seed' was done by Peter HInge, seen pictured above receiving his prize from club Chairperson Amanda Mayes.
After short summer break, the club will reconvene on Wednesday 6th September.
