RECOGNITION FOR PAM WILMOT
Chilcompton Art Club’s annual exhibition took place at the village hall Chilcompton on Saturday the 8th October, the event featured over 120 paintings, and was a great success, with visitor numbers up on last year at about 150.
The proceeds from a well stocked Tombola stall, and the small entrance fee, means that the club can make a contribution of £150 to the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Club chairman Hugh Webb stated “We are delighted with the interest and support shown by the local people of Chilcompton and Midsomer Norton, and I would like to thank all the members of the club who contributed their works and helped with the organising of the exhibition.”
Club artist Pam Wilmot (pictured next to one of her larger works) celebrated her inauguration into the Royal Miniature Society for artists who paint miniatures. Her painting of ‘Anemones’ was given two awards, the Presidents Special Commendation Miniature Work, and Rosemary and Co First Time Exhibitor Award.
Anyone thinking of taking up painting and drawing for a pastime is welcome to come along to our sessions at St John’s church hall, Chilcompton on any Wednesday or Friday morning between 10:00 and 12:00, all abilities will be made welcome.
