Chilcompton Art Club - About Us
And so the Chilcompton Art Club evolved and became a club officially on 1st January 1993. Our current membership consists of about 35 members and we are fortunate in having an ideal venue for painting. It is a modern church hall attached to Chilcompton Parish Church of St. John the Baptist, Chilcompton BA3 4HN, which is in a beautiful rural setting with lots of natural light.

Committee Changes at the AGM 2017
At the recent Chilcompton Art Club AGM, longstanding Chairman Hugh Webb made the decision to stand down from the role after many years of service. Hugh brought something unique to the Chairman’s role, his easy going nature and ready wit, along with a caring attitude for the members, made it very easy for people to get along with him. He established a rapport with the members that made them feel at ease and above all, welcomed. Hugh, being and ex-teacher, seamlessly slotted into the role again, when he conducted one of his whacky, but informative, watercolour workshops, some of which will never be forgotten by those that attended. Hugh has agreed to remain as a committee member, and will offer his help, experience, and guidance in the coming years. The club also extended their thanks to Mrs Sue Thatcher and Susan Brain for stepping in and doing the role of Secretary this past 12 months, she has had some health issues, but has managed to do a fine job, and it was very much appreciated. The members voted to elect a new Secretary, Mr Nigel Punchard, and also a new Chairman, Amanda Mayes seen here in the middle of the presentations to Hugh and Susan.
